Ritu Raj was brought up in a musical family and trained in North-Indian classical music under the umbrella of his mother, a prominent music trainer in Bangladesh, Durba Chowdhury.
He entered the music industry of Bangladesh through the Reality TV series "Closeup 1: Tomakei Khujchhe Bangladesh 2012." The competition ended for him with total marks giving him the 5th position. He had to leave the competition with a heavy heart.
However, being introduced to the music scene in Bangladesh through the platform, he promised the audience that he would keep on singing and try his best to present better music to the listeners.
