Biography
The Swillhouse is a band of three from Dhaka, Bangladesh, with an Indie Genre. It was
formed by Nafisa Tarannum, Arnab Ahmed, and Irfan Zarif.
The Swillhouse had been performing under the name Ontim since 2008, and continued
their journey till 2011. After Ontim disbanded, the trio, once again, started home-
jamming, making songs of their own, which lead to a new band, they named The
Swillhouse. They started recording their first single after several gigs they have
performed in. Moreover, there has been regular Jamming Sessions, with their touring
members Asif and Rakib.

Individual Profile (Members):
1 Nafisa Tarannum: The eldest of all the other members has been in the music scene
since her high school. Guitar was her initiate in the music which was taught by Omar
Khalid Rumi (Bangladesh). Afterwards, performed solo as vocal in several shows. She
also performed with the band Radio Active and Laura in BAT Michael Jackson Tribute,
held in Winter Garden in 2009. That show was a kick-start for her in the Band Music.
One of her singles named Bewarish Megh was released in 2010 in the Mixed Album
called Protishoron under the banner of Fahim Music. She took classic vocal lessons for
developing her music skills in singing. She has been taking lessons from Romel Ali
(Founder and former member of Warfaze) since 2011 and half.

(Bangladesh) Pakistani Music, etc.
2. Arnob Ahmed (Ono): Having classic vocal training from Chayanat, Arnab is in the
music scene from the year 2005. He is also specialist in playing Acoustic Guitars. He
was the vocal of the bands named Nevermind and Pirates simultaneously. While in
Pirates, they have released a band solo album called Swarga. He had performed in lots
of underground concerts during that time. Quitting from the bands, from the year 2007,
he started performing solo, during which, he released one solo album and three mixed
albums under the banners of Fahim Music, DLM, with the last one with Nafisa. Then
Arnab and Nafisa started doing music together. Along with his vocal and Guitars, he is a
song writer and composer of the band.

U2, Travis, Violent Femmes, Maher Khan, Faisal (Metal Maze) Pakistani Music, etc.
3. Irfan Zarif (Arun): He is the third member of The Swillhouse, who usually likes to play
guitar. He learned to play his instrument from one of his friends named Reyon Siddque.
Then took advance lessons from Sabbir Simon, a friend next door. He started his journey
forming the band Eclectic as a guitarist and back-up vocals. They had a lot of gigs and
interviews regarding the band. He was also the founder member of Ontim along with
Nafisa and Arnab.

4. Tahmidul Islam (Rakib): A guest member in The Swillhouse, who joined with them a
day before their first recording. He joined as the drummer in the band. He is currently a
drummer and also founder member of Eclectic.
Musical Influence: Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Gavin Harrison, Mike Johnston, The
Beatles, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Arctic Monkeys, Soundgarden, Radio Head, Black
(Bangladesh), Nemesis (Bangledesh), Nirvana, etc.
5. Asif Ayon: Another guest member of the band who plays Bass Guitar. Playing the bass
guitar for 2 and half years, his main influences have been Flea from the Red Hot Chili
Peppers, Larry Graham. Those are his inspirations when it comes to playing bass. But
when it comes to life and music as a whole, he takes inspiration from his surroundings.
His journey with music is a very short one. He has been in music for somewhat 4 years.
Started with an acoustic in class 7, started playing bass in class 9 and now he has the
opportunity of playing with some of the finest people of the music industry. One of his
most memorable shows was when he played alongside Imran Ahmed of Band Lalon.
Other than that, he has performed and worked with Eclectic, Trip, Latent, Blue Jeans, A
No Name Bluse Band and The Swillhouse.
